Description

Knit This Duck and Strawberry Motif Sweater

You want their first sweater to feel special, not like something pulled off a store shelf.
This one comes with tiny ducks, flowers, or strawberries worked right into it, so the extra care shows.

The whole sweater is worked top down in one piece, so there's no seaming or guessing where pieces go.
The colorwork is built into the yoke and hem one chart at a time, so you always know what comes next.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Finished Size: 3-6 months to 4-5 years (chest 54-87 cm)

  • Sized from 3-6 months up to 4-5 years, so you can knit for the exact stage now or size up for later
  • Worked top down with no seaming, just pick up the sleeves and go
  • Choose ducks or strawberries and 3 or 4 colors, so the sweater can match the child

"I was nervous about the colorwork, but the chart made it simple to follow."

Materials

  • DK-weight yarn in 3 or 4 colors
  • Circular needles, sizes 3.5 mm and 4 mm
  • Stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle, for duplicate stitch detail and finishing
  • Ribbon or thread for bows (optional)
