Description

Knit a Scallop-Hem Sweater Kids Will Love

You want her sweater to look like it came from a sweet little boutique, not a craft table. This one gets there in soft garter stitch, no fancy stitchwork required.

It's worked top down in one simple stitch from start to finish, so you can put your attention on the scalloped edges and icord cuff ties instead of counting complicated rows.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Finished Size: Sizes 4-5 to 12-14 years (chest 22.4"–32.3")

  • Runs across 8 sizes, from 4-5 up to 12-14 years, so you can knit it for a toddler or a tween
  • Scalloped hem and cuffs with tied icord details give it a finished, special-occasion feel
  • Roomy positive ease built into every size means a relaxed, comfortable fit that's forgiving if you're between sizes

"She wore hers three days in a row and I still can't believe I made it myself."

Materials

  • Worsted weight yarn, wool/alpaca/viscose blend (approx. 250-450g depending on size)
