Knit Your Own Mohair Cable Sweater

This one gives you a soft, roomy pullover with cables front, back, and down both sleeves.

                         

It’s worked top-down in one piece, so there’s no sewing up at the end. Every cable section is charted, including separate shoulder charts for each size group, so you always know where you are.

Finished Size: XS to 4XL, 100 to 152 cm (39¼" to 59¾") finished bust

  • Fit you can plan for. Each size is matched to a bust range with 15 to 20 cm of built-in ease, so picking your size is simple.
  • Length on your terms. Body and sleeves are worked toward a target length “or the desired length,” so you can make it longer or more cropped as you go.
  • Cables that look soft, not stiff. Merino held with two strands of mohair silk gives the cables a light halo and a warm, airy feel.

  • DK weight merino, held together with 2 strands of lace weight mohair silk (3 strands total, Aran weight fabric)
  • 5.5 mm (US 9) circular needles in 40 cm, 60 to 100 cm, and 100 to 120 cm lengths, and/or DPNs
  • 4 mm (US 6) circular needles in 40 cm and 100 to 120 cm lengths, and/or DPNs
  • Cable needle (optional)
  • Waste yarn for holding stitches
  • Tapestry needle
  • Elastic thread (optional, for the neckband)
